Mid-Week Study

It was Charles Spurgeon who said, “Bible study is the metal that forges a Christian”.

Our mid-week study supports our Vision Statement: “Our desire and design is to see all believers maturing and serving effectively in unity, so all people embrace God in an intimate relationship, giving Him all the glory.”

It may seem obvious, but at the core of The Church Family Fellowship’s mid-week Bible study is – well – the Bible. An emphasis is placed on the study of the Word itself. “Do not study commentaries, lesson helps or other books about the Bible: study the Bible itself. Do not study about the Bible, study the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God, and only the Bible is the Word of God.” R. A. Torrey.

Preparation for the mid-week study is simply the Scripture itself. We are encouraged to savor the Word of God, and to proceed at our own pace, considering where the Word is taking each of us in our personal spiritual journey.  We dig deep into Scripture to discover its true and deeper meanings, taking into account the history, culture and language of the time, for broader clarity of what the earthly author, led by the Holy Spirit, was expressing.

The Church Family Fellowship recognizes that Scripture allows us to investigate and compare thoughts and ask questions, so be prepared to come and share. [Proverbs 27:17 CSB] Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another.

Through interactive discussion, the mid-week Bible study provides an opportunity to experience the gifts of the Spirit encouraging one another in our most holy faith. [Hebrews 10:24-25 CSB] 24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, 25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.

Scripture mandates that believers are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Digging deep into the Word while exhorting one another by the Holy Spirit’s leading is foundational to the Mid-week Bible Study at The Church Family Fellowship.

Quote: “A truly unique and incredible approach to studying Scripture. This Bible study keeps the main thing the main thing.”
