Teaching Pastor
Tom is one of the teaching pastors and elders. He had the blessing of being raised in a strong Christian home where loving God and others was consistently taught and beautifully modeled. Tom accepted the Lord at the age of 5 while participating in one of his mother’s Good News Clubs. At the age of 17, during a choir tour with Artists in Christian Testimony, Tom felt called to ministry. He answered that call in leadership roles in youth groups, youth and music ministry, and the teaching of God’s word.
Tom’s deep love for the Lord and the Lord’s people led him to starting The Church Family Fellowship with close friends who also had the desire to develop a church whose body of believers believed in God, salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and who used their Grace gifts from the Holy Spirit to glorify God and draw others to God.
Tom is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, the President, CEO, and Executive Director of Genesis Counseling Services overseeing four clinics in the Riverside, Victorville, and Ridgecrest areas. He is also an adjunct professor in the psychology department at California Baptist University. Tom enjoys speaking at conferences on the topics of marriage and parenting. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Lee Ann, for 42 years, and has 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
Teaching Pastor
Lenny Esposito is one of the teaching pastors and elders at The Church Family Fellowship. His love for Lord and desire to equip others to share their faith led him to start The Church with long-time ministry friends in 2018.
Raised Catholic by his Italian family in Southern California, Lenny’s love for the Lord began at an early age. He often shares the story of accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 2nd grade after believing the Bible stories about Jesus taught by the school nuns. He attended UCR in Riverside, CA, studying physics, but his passion for church history and theology soon turned his interests to a deeper study of the Bible and why we believe what we believe.
He began his own apologetics ministry answering questions on an internet forum in 1995 and soon founded Come Reason Ministries. Through Come Reason he has taught many how to defend their faith with a logical and loving attitude through classes, conferences, mission trips, and seminars at churches across the U.S., and internationally. His motto has been, “You should only believe something if it is true”.
A leading voice of apologetics and Christian worldview for thirty years, Lenny has authored hundreds of articles dealing with intellectually strenuous topics such as the existence of God, theology, philosophy, social issues and Biblical difficulties.
He has written articles for the popular Apologetics Study Bible for Students (B&H, 2010) as well as contributed chapters to A New Kind of Apologist (Harvest House, 2016) and True Reason: Confronting the Irrationality of the New Atheism (Kregel, 2014). His articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times and the Southern California Christian Times.
Besides his passion for studying the Bible, Lenny also enjoys cycling 5 days a week and has participated in several century rides throughout California where he uses these opportunities to share the gospel with others and as a fundraising tool.
He met his sweetheart Christine in 1984. They have been married for 37 years, raising 4 sons and have one beautiful granddaughter. Riverside has been their home since 1990.
Teaching Elder
Brent, the Worship Leader and an elder at The Church Family Fellowship, has led worship and teaching ministries for over 45 years. As a teenager, he “cut his teeth” leading hymn sings at his home church. Later, at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, he led various in-home Bible studies, participated in and led worship teams, and directed several vocal groups. This included the Worship Community, the Harvest Praise Ensemble, and 300+ members of the Billy Graham Crusade choir.
Brent taught classes for those hoping to join the worship team at Harvest, building their musical skills, and readiness to lead worship. He also assisted the worship pastors in screening and evaluating potential worship team candidates.
As director of the Harvest Praise Ensemble, an a cappella group, Brent saw the Lord anoint them through countless outreach opportunities to minister through worship. This included hospital ministry, being featured guests at numerous congregations, and caroling or performing at a myriad of church and civic functions. At Camp Pendleton in San Diego, the Praise Ensemble had the joy of seeing literally hundreds of young Marines come to Christ, in a collaborative ministry with an evangelistic team led by Chaplain Steve Ballinger. Under Brent’s direction, the Praise Ensemble also participated in over 25 years of the annual Candlelight Procession at Disneyland, a privilege they earned by audition year after year.
Brent’s continuing desire and calling is to see each member of this body encouraged and edified in their walk with the Lord and their gifting from the Holy Spirit.
Brent’s wife, Joanne, has been at his side through 42+ years of ministry. Together, they have three adult children, two children-in-law, six grandchildren, one cat, and one dog.
Teaching Pastor
Ray Leblond is one of three teaching pastors at The Church Family Fellowship. He was drawn to the Church’s mission to support and develop the individual ministries of its church body.
Having a passion for interactive fellowship, he began a mid-week study at the church, covering various books of the Bible. He then authored and taught a midweek series “The Nature of God in Proverbs,” a study of God’s character that focuses on Proverbs but reaches into all 66 books of the Bible.
Ray was 27 when he found a true belief in God and a relationship with Jesus. From that point on, he began attending church regularly and studying the Bible diligently. He led men’s Bible study groups for many years.
After a stint in the Air Force where he developed a background in electronic design and software development, Ray worked in the technical industry all his career, with a focus on developing technology to improve public safety. He has helped cities by designing and deploying safety and surveillance systems for their parks, schools, and cities. He holds two patents in his field.
God has gifted Ray with leadership ability at home, at work and in the church. He has a committed, disciplined approach to his faith, and loves to share about the Lord with others.
Ray has been married to Laurie for 35 years. He has six children and two grandchildren. He enjoys traveling and woodworking in his spare time.
